T60 Heat Issues when using an external USB drive

#1 Post by pjain » Fri Jul 27, 2007 11:19 am

My ThinkPad T60 has recently been hot. It gets incredibly hot after a few hours of using an external USB drive. I haven't used any tools to determine the temperature in Windows XP or Linux but sometimes it get so hot, I have to shut it down. I can't hear if the fan is working or not but I'm curious if any other users are experiencing similar heat issues on the T60.
Cheers

Do we have something inside the bios that display the temperature of the CPU, and the rotation speed of the ventilo...

I know that I have that in my desktop, but in my T60P, I never checked that option.

If in fact we can see the temperature, maybe you could post the specs when you start your laptop and when you think that your CPU is frying an egg :)

I own a T60P for only 2 weeks now, I will check my bios too when I get back to my home :)
