Z61m number lock

#1 Post by MikeMcM » Sat Jul 28, 2007 3:23 pm

Hi All:

My name is Mike.

Thanks in advance for your brainpower.

Here’s my situation.

I have been using an HP ZE5700 with WinXP running MS Word for a couple of years.
I’m thinking of replacing the 5700 with a Lenovo Z61m with Vista.
I like the Z61m better, but…

The 5700 has a key next to the F12 key which has a white padlock, and a blue padlock.
If you press that key without hitting the Fn key (white padlock), it puts the num-lock into a standby mode.

The num-lock light comes on but you still get the letters over the ten-key pad.

You can then use the Fn key as a momentary contact switch to toggle the ten-key pad.

It’s pretty fast if you type a lot of alpha-numeric entries with commas, dashes, and periods.

Does the Z61m hardware support this function, and if so, how does one go about configuring the keys?
