X61T screen w/ erratic brightness change while on battery?

Hi all,

Has anyone experienced erratic changes in brightness while using their tablets? I was using my tablet in slate mode for a little over an hour when the screen started to dim to darkness (screen seemed like it turned off) and then resume after 30 secs or so to full brightness and then return to the brightness level I had set. The tablet did this several times over the next hour or two.

I was running solely on battery (8cell) and actively doing the ink crossword puzzle. Therefore, I don't think this was due to any timeouts.

Any ideas?

See if you have the latest video driver from Intel's website. I had a similar problem and upgrading to the latest video driver from Intel's site solved the problem.
