If I load the ATI 7500 driver on the 1400 x 1050 monitor will that fix my problem or do I need a different LCD?
Please advise

Does that mean you want to either (1) sell the whole thing and buy an XGA T41, or (2) replace the LCD (plus the appropriate cable and inverter)?GRBGRB wrote:I do not want to sell this T41 as parts
In a way, you're lucky because SXGA+ units are worth more money.GRBGRB wrote:They sent me this unit instead.

But you can make some money by selling this unit for say $450.GRBGRB wrote:I can return it and get my $$ back as it is not what was listed and it came from a reputable source.

Although it would void the warranty.GRBGRB wrote:The replacement of the LCD is an interesting offer.

The 15.0" SXGA+ R50 with 6-cell battery is about 6.5 lbs, 1.5 lbs heavier than the 14.1" SXGA+ T41. My R50p with QXGA and 6-cell is even heavier, 6.92 lbs.underclocker wrote:I am paying a weight penalty though, it's about a 3/4 lb. more than a T41 - and thicker, too.

You may be right! I also have a 14" R51 so maybe I've mixed up the weights. I will weigh it later for confirmation. Either way, I'll take my 2.7 lb. X40 for travel. That is actual weight.pianowizard wrote:The 15.0" SXGA+ R50 with 6-cell battery is about 6.5 lbs, 1.5 lbs heavier than the 14.1" SXGA+ T41. The Spirit of X21's XGA T40, with optical drive, 6-cell and two RAM sticks, weighs 5.04 lbs.underclocker wrote:The T40 weighed exactly 5 lbs. (w/optical and one stick of RAM).
