Webcam mount: Logitech vs. Microsoft

#1 Post by mond » Tue Jul 31, 2007 2:17 am

Hello all,

I need a webcam for my X31 and have pretty much narrowed the choice down to either the Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks Pro or the Microsoft Lifecam NX-6000.

The real question is which of these will fit an X31 screen better? I have read another user on this forum commment that the Logitech clip does not fit well on Thinkpads. Can anyone expand on this or give their experience? And more importantly, does anyone have experience with how the the Microsoft cam clips on a Thinkpad screen?

I know about the new Lenovo cam, but it's quite expensive (low availability) here in Denmark, so the choice is between those two.

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

tfflivemb2, can be the cam be used properly with your R40? I've read several places that Logitech cams are quite heavy on the system, and that it really needs the recomend 2.4 GHz P4 to be usable.
Do you get acceptable framerate and picture quality on your machine?
Sorry for heading getting offtopic.
