Windows Install problems on ThinkPad A30

Hi, I have 2 A30s, One named TPA30a, the other TPA30b.

TPA30a: Works like all my other thinkpads, no real outstanding
problems.

TPA30b: Installs, starts up and runs all Win9xs. Also installs, starts up and runs retail VISTA.

Problem: I have no recovery A30 CD( it likely wouldn't work anyway) So I try Win2000 CD for install. Setup files all load (just like use 6 ff disk) and then nothing, hangs with blank screen. After 5 tries same condition, so I let sit for 3 hrs, take needed break, come back no change. So I try XP sp2 (OEM) same as Win2000.

Not done: TPA30a has XP sp2 (OEM) installed and running just fine as I type this right now. I shut this laptop TPA30a with hibernation or standby remove HDD put in TPA30b. And b resumes startup and works just fine, dual monitors,extended desktop and full SVGA.
Shutdown and startuop hangs at agp440.

Google agp440: Find this is big problem for many yrs, but my first
time I could not solve. Can not do repair with install CD or use repair console.

Things tried on TPA30b: Complete PC Dr tests for A30 passed all
OK. Removed - Battery, modem, LAN Wlan, Floppy and CD-DVD drive. PROBLEM SAME.

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF FIX?

HI, more testing on A30 THAT WOULD NOT INSTALL OR RUN 2k OR
xPSP2. With bare MoBo, min(128) ram and CD Dr pw up and
boot Win2K. same problem. Put inHDD with WinME startup and
runs OK. DevMgr shows yel indication for PCI BUSS MANAGER,
WINDOWS NO REG CONFIGRATION, This is TPA30b the same
laptop has TPA30a,which works good. BACK TO ZERO GOOD COMPUTER SHOWS SAME THING WITH O.S. WinMe.

Could my motherboard be bad even if it has passed PC Dr test
or did IBM Have strange TP A30s made for them?

CAN ANYONE COM ON THIS PROBLEM??
