#1 Post by allen » Wed Aug 01, 2007 4:33 pm

ThinkPad 90W AC/DC Combo Adapter (US/Can/LA)
Part number: 40Y7630

that is the part i have, link here
90W AC/DC Combo Adapter

i must have left on the plane the cord with the standard wall plug outlet, and the cable with the car lighter / plane attachment in it.

is there a way i can have those pieces replaced without spending $119 to just have a whole new one?

thanks
allen

The AC cord should be easy enough to replace. Usually known as a "figure-8" AC cord, most well-stocked electrical supply stores (Radio Shack, Home Depot, etc.) should have them.

The DC (cigarette lighter) cord is another story. I don't know of any place beside eBay where you might be able to find just one by itself. I don't believe you can order one from Lenovo/IBM, but then again, I've never tried.

I suggest calling up Lenovo. Almost every part has a # associated with it and can be ordered individually, at least for the laptops. I don't see why this would not hold true for the power system.

Yes but every one of those parts you refer to has an associated FRU number. The entire AC/DC adapter package including the cords is one FRU number. You can't order pieces of a FRU.
