T43 getting slower everyday....

I downloaded Acronis True Image 10 as a trial version.

On the main screen if I click on Backup and I pick my computer it wants to do a Full backup to my External Maxtor and the size of my drive is bigger than the External.

If I click on Clone Disk it sees my Hard Drive and then the Maxtor External and it wants to "partition" the external and delete all data.

I cannot find the way to create a file that is a Backup of the C: drive so I can reinstall it with all the programs and settings, if I want, every 6 months, for example....so the Registry can be cleaned up.

Today, I downloaded Paragon and everytime I go ahead to do an image or a clone or a backup it shuts down.

FYI, Paragon does not do a backup by files it only does a full backup.

So, now I am back to Square one and I am thinking that the solution is to have a Dedicated Backup External for each of the 2 desktops and 1 for the Laptop and then I don't have to worry about the software clearing all data from the drive....

But I can;t help but feel that this is the final answer.
