T43 PCMCIA Slot usage

#1 Post by mooingmooseman » Thu Aug 02, 2007 2:50 pm

I am running a T43 2668-WUF

This model has a PCMCIA and a PCMCIA Express card slot. I am running Vista Business edition.

I'm just wondering, what are some good ways for me to fully utilize my PCMCIA slot? Do any of you use it?

I'm looking for more utility type suggestions (ie increasing computer speed, storage space) as opposed to "extras" like a tv card or something.

Thanks in advance for your advice

Well there's stuff like this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820300905

which basically allows you the usage of memory cards in your laptop without the USB adapter sticking out. Has a more "integrated" look to it.

I think you can get 4GB PCMCIA cards too which you can just store some crap on.

hm, that linkskey pcmcia card reader looks decent... does it have storage limits? looks like people complained about slow speeds

is there any type of pcmcia card that takes flash memory, is completely "integrated" (nothing sticking out), and has decent speed?
