How to install a single key on T41 keyboard?
Hi All,
Today my daughter pulled out a single key from my T41 (Key E).
All the Key parts are there.
But how to reassemble these parts and install the key?
Thanks
Sandy

It is hard to figure out from looking at the pieces. What I did the first time was to use the tip of a knife to pry off a second key carefully, so the mechanism remained on the keyboard. I could then examine how it went together. I remember the event, because when I put it back together, I put the keys on the wrong places and my keyboard had two keys reversed, until I fixed it again.
It's not easy (took the person above two weeks to do it!) and if any of the arms/pins on the attachments are broken it basically can't be fixed without replace the entire key assembly (they are on e-bay, along with instructions). IBM/Lenovo don't even recognize the repair and just replace the complete keyboard if it's under warranty.

Keys often come off my daughters keyboard. From my last session replacing a key, I noted that the keys seem slide on from the rear of the keyboard. This made me think that, having longish nails, she was effectively over-shooting the keys with her fast typing and pushing the keys towards the screen and therefore they would occasionally come off. Hence I am trying to get her to push down on the keys rather than across, if you see what I mean.
Btw, make sure that you don't lose the rubber 'cup' that sites between cap and board. They do come off, but I managed very carefully to superglue it back on again and all seems OK.
