For those with Intel 3945ABG connection woes...

#1 Post by tballx » Sat Aug 04, 2007 11:41 am

I've gone through two of these cards under warranty and finally noticed that using wireless channel 11 on my router fixed my problems. I know that 11 and 6 are the most common and why this worked I have know idea but it did. Just wanted to pass it along in case anyone can benefit. :)

Channel 6 is often the default channel for APs. Because of this it is very crowded and you will experience co-channel interference if you have close neighbors nearby also using 6.

You can use access connections to view other APs your card is seeing. You want to pick a channel that has the least interference (1, 6 or 11).

Now if you tell my you live in the country and your nearest neighbor is 100 yrs away, then it's possible that something else is going on.
