IBM T43 Question

#1 Post by ghofer » Sat Aug 04, 2007 1:30 pm

I was wondering i obtained an ibm t43 through my work because of it being broken. The only problem with it is it doesnt turn on. I'm thinking this is the mainboard in the pc itself. I'm not exactly sure i hate to spend $200 to replace it if that is not the problem.

I also repair laptops and desktops for a living so its not something i'd have to send off to anyone to get repaired i just order the part.

I was wondering what you guys think ?

first step would be removing all the extra stuff like the wireless and such. Then you need to test the ram. If you know the ram's working then it narrows down to the motherboard/cpu, and it is far more likely to be the motherboard in that case.

Before I decide the NB is bad, I always try a different keyboard. Sometimes it is just the power switch

Definitely first step is to check with Lenovo if the machine is under warranty.
