Sorry for a possibly stupid question, but what does the LCD have to do with the HDD cover?

Believe it or not, they are different, although you can make one fit into the place of the other...IBM has 2 different FRUs clearly defining one as being for the 14" and the other for 15" LCDs...

:? This is going to get interesting, as wibony doesn't mention this difference and only notes that: "Item will work with the following models: A20 A21 A22 A20M A21M A22M A20P A21P A22P". I've sent a message asking for clarification.

Honestly, I doubt that you'll get an answer-you're dealing with Beijing, remember-but you're in a fairly good spot since you are looking for a 15" part...if I remember correctly (it's been a while) cover from 14" will fit right in and be slightly loose, while the other way around you might have to do some surgery...

Of course, you can call Lenovo and give them $45 for the cover in question-at least that's what they've quoted me the last time I called about two years ago...

Surprisingly enough, I did get an answer,. and it was even in good English: "This one is for a 14", I also have the 15" model available."
Now I've also asked whether I can pay with anything but PayPal, which I don't have, isn't common in Europe anyway - and has a bad reputation for customer unfriendliness, account blocking and unjustified payment reversals here. We'll see whether this also gets an answer.

I think I'd rather pay someone here to carve it out of a block of plastic, which would be no more expensive.

It remains a great mystery to me why simple plastic parts are sold for such breathtaking prices.

Well, I can't complain about the communication with "wibony"... got an answer to my questions very quickly after I wrote - surprising in view of the time zone difference Germany-Peking/Bejing-USA.
Yes, please specify the size of your screen so that we don't send you wrong item.
You can send me a check to:
william ibo
345 south end ave.
apt. 5N
New York, NY 10280
USA

I will ship as soon as check clears.
Can't beat that for clarity.

Later: only problem is that you can't send a note to the seller when you use the "buy now" option, and that ONLY PayPal is a payment option. So I've sent still another note to the seller. Hadn't really thought this would be such a complex affair, but maybe it'll work out in the end.

Added on August 7... Got a reply that I can order directly at the above address, which I am doing.
