Normal for t61 top rubber cover to be "uneven" in

#1 Post by jonnylaw » Sat Aug 04, 2007 4:07 pm

My t61's rubber top is uneven in the back where it meets the bottom part of the case. This "area" is to the left of the right metal hinge when facing the back of the laptop. It's not a huge area, but there is a slight gap present I can push the two portions of the case together and I hear a slight "snap", but when I let go, the gap appears again.

This seems to be purely cosmetic, as the screen and its movement performs fine, but I am just worried that this "gap" might get bigger with prolonged use?

Does anyone else have this problem? Is it common? Is it minor and not something to worry about/complain to Lenovo about?

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Seems normal to me nevertheless a picture is worth thousand words so please post one according to following rule of the forum:
4. IF you must add a photograph to your post, PLEASE limit the size to 50k or less and place a warning in the subject line

I've seen photos of and heard stories about other T61 models with significant gaps in the plastic around the screen. I'm sure there is no detrimental effect to the performance BUT I would be worried about dust, moisture etc. getting into that gap and over time potentially causing problems.
