Put a Tualatin Processor in a A20P-22p?

#1 Post by imzjustplayin » Sat Aug 04, 2007 4:25 pm

Can you put a tualatin processor in an A20P? Isn't the socket in the A20p and Dell Inspiron 8000/8100 all mpga2? But since the bus is 133mhz for the PIII Tualatin I was thinking of using a Celeron Tualatin instead, however I don't know if it supports speed step or not.

You've answered you own question. You already know that the Tualatin processors are PC133, however; all of the A2x series run on a PC100 bus. So even if you can get the processor to fit, it won't run. The fastest that the A2x series will run is the 1.0ghz PIII. The only A Series machine that will run the Tualatin processor is the A30.
