R40 2723-3XU Hard Drive /RAM Question

#1 Post by Dilusionx » Sat Aug 04, 2007 7:14 pm

This will be my first post on this forum, i appreciate how much information is this forum.

I have a few questions regarding my thinkpad r40 which i've had for about 3 years, which was provided by the high school i just graduated from this past June.

Now since ill be heading off to college within a week, i've been contemplating whether to get an external hard drive or to just replace the current one which is the stock drive (34Gb). Which would you recommend?

I am also wondering if i can upgrade the ram since i only have the basic 256mb RAM. I don't know what to do at this point so any insight is appreciated!

Thanks, Dilusionx

You can install up to 2GB PC2700 RAM and up to a 160GB internal IDE hard drive. If you need more storage than 160GB, then an external drive is the answer.

I'll make it easy for you, any drive listed in the following link will work - (one of the Hitachi 7K100 drives will be fastest)

IDE (ATA6) Drives at Newegg.com
