#1 Post by njdjh2o » Sun Aug 05, 2007 2:58 pm

My father in law purchase Windows XP and I installed in on my A22m. Now my laptop is so slow when downloading, it downloads at 1 KBS when it use to be way higher.

It takes forever to open a web page, it shows the USB port as drive,

Please help

What does this mean? Can you explain this in more detail? Have you tried the 3Com Ethernet driver?

njdjh2o, what version of Windows did you use before installing XP? Perhaps you need to add more RAM?

When I insert the flash card into the USB port, I go to My Computer and click on the assigned drive (E:) and when I click on it is states "Insert Disk into Drive"

I had a boot leg copy of Windows XP, now I have the real software for XP and now when I download it is very very slow.

It took 4 hours to download a 13 MB file from the IBM website. The file I download was the DVD update file.

I did defragment of the C: drive, PC Doctor, I tried everything I could think of, even AOL computer check up and AOL quick fix.

The computer moves, opening up file and software is fast, but when I go online that is where I have the problem. Pulling up a web page is slow and downloading takes forever.

Sounds like virus / spyware, the OS has nothing to say about the download rate. Be sure to install the lastest windows udpdates from microsoft site.
