T42 & WMP 10

I hope this isn't inappropriate, but Microsoft's tech support is non-existent. I've been trying to upgrade to Windows Media Player 10 on my t42, but I have the following problem:

After I download WMP 10 and open the setup file, the extraction occurs, but then I get the following error msg:

"Error creating process." [file path omitted]. "The system cannot find the
file path specified."

I haven't specified a file path. There seem to be many computer savvy people here; if someone has a suggestion, I'd appreciate your help.

Are you logged in with administrator priveleges?

There's a forum on here specifically for Windows.

If you are referring to windows user accounts, yes.
