BSOD when booting from USB CDROM

#1 Post by delgross » Mon Aug 06, 2007 8:25 am

I have a new x61 tablet. I had wanted to put a copy of Ultimate on
the machine so I wanted to boot off of USB cd/dvd drive. Every
time this ends in a BSOD. I reinstalled Vista Business from the safety partition . With a clean
install, newly formatted system it still happens. I have tried every USB port on the X61, multiple cables and two dvd drives. Does
anyone know what could be causing this???

Thanks,
ED

To make the BSOD halt do this:

Right Click My Computer > Properties > Advanced System settings > Startup and Recovery > Then uncheck "Automaically restart" and press OK.

Next time you'll be able to read the blue screen.

Report back the error #.

Thanks... I will have to wait until I get home as that is where the
drive is.
