WTB: 600X

#1 Post by tical164 » Tue Aug 07, 2007 1:27 am

I would like to buy a 600X to run a small Linux distro such as Puppy or DSL. I have about $120 to spend.

Would like:
- 500 mhz although a 650 would be better for future upgrades
- 320 mb ram
- 10 gb hdd
- ac adapter
- cd-rom
- decent battery, not looking for two hours but also don't want a dead battery
- condition isn't very important as long as everything works

Please send me a PM or email me with your machines specs and asking price including shipping.

I have a 600x that would pretty much meet these specs, however, you'd have to come up with more than $120...

i would look around on Ebay for a while, you might be able to get something for 120$ that would need an HD UG or what not,

Only if you don't read carefully...

You'd also need more RAM (only 64MB provided) and a new HDD (only 2GB) to really do much practical work. The AC adapter would also have to be purchased extra.

I'm not sure whether the "tiny white line" would be a problem if it only shows during booting and not thereafter, but it would be a risk to buy and then check in detail.

 opps, i'm tired babys been keeping me awake didnt even read it really, but if you look enough you can find something to fix up.

i found something i might pass to you once i get a reply about it, i cant afford it really, short budget atm. unless i can talk my wife into letting me get it. it needs a 10$ fix and some cosmetic sticker removal. just waiting to hear from the guy cause i am trying to convince him to do further testing.
