DVD multi drive - no burn

#1 Post by marvel » Tue Aug 07, 2007 5:23 am

Got recently a DVD multi (FRU 92p6110) that just won´t burn DVD-RW. Tried with several different disks but it just can´t recognize the disk. This DVD multi was pulled from a t42p and I´m trying to use it on my T41p, but all that shouldn´t matter I think.

I suppose it´s something wrong with the disks or the software I´m using.

Anyone else got similar problem?

Do you need specific DVD burning software to do this, over and above what came with your base system?

Yes, you need software to burn DVDs. Windows XP integrated CD burning, and Vista added DVD support. You will need Nero or Roxio (or CD Burner XP Pro which is free) to burn DVDs.

Are you using one of these?
T40 - 1GB RAM, 1.5GHz PM, Atheros WiFi, 40GB HD
X30 - 728MB RAM, 1.2GHz PIII, 60GB 7200RPM HD, Cisco WiFi
X31 - 1.5GBB RAM, 1.6GHz PM, 60GB 7200RPM HD, Atheros WiFi

Well, I actually used Infra Recorder (http://infrarecorder.sourceforge.net/), but to no avail.

But I´ll try Nero or Roxio as well.

Thanks for the links btw! //M

The ThinkPad Multi-Burner Ultrabay Slim Drive (FRU 92P6110) is very selective with DVD-RW media. I have successfully burned Imation/Maxell and TDK DVD-RW media at 2X speed with it, but failed with RICOH/Verbatim and some Generic DVD-RW ones. Using Nero 7 and latest firmware for the drive.
