#1 Post by mr_haze123 » Tue Aug 07, 2007 12:53 pm

Hi,

I'm trying to find a comparison benchmark between these 2 cards but I've been unsuccessful so far...I wanna play game like Far Cry and stuff like this.

Anyone can help?

Thanks a lot!

Well, neither are gaming GPUs but, having said that, I got some pretty good performance with the Radeon 9600 in my T42.

Witch Quadro do you speak about ? NVS 140m is a bit less powerfull then FireGL V5200. Quadro FX 570m is about two time more powerfull then the Quadro NVS 140m.

Here is a link to my 3D Mark 2005 laptops database :

3D Mark 2005 is a graphic benchmark witch show a GPU performs in common games. The chart is : laptop, processor, graphic, 3D Mark 2005 score. Higher is better and better ones are at the top.

I believe 3DMark measures performance by testing the shader units in the 3d-card, where the Quadro has much faster shader units.
Far Cry on the other hand is an older game, which means it's more fill-rate dependant. Both cards should run the game well.
If I had the choice between the two, the V5250 would have to be greatly discounted for me in order choose that one.
The Quadro 570M (8600M GT) is more future proof, and has higher performance overall.

What stinks is that you can only get a 128MB version of the nVidia Quadro FX 570M when configuring the T61p 14.1" variant.

While my T60p 14.1" has a ATi FireGL V5200 256MB flavor.

Does anyone know if the 128MB nVidia card still beats the 256MB ATi card?

Thanks in advance. :)

Any benchmarks for the 256MB version and the 128MB version for comparison would be great!

Thanks!
