Need help with router
Im not sure if this is the place to put it but the mods can move it if not in the right place. Recently my old modem on my dsl has gone dead. At&t sent me a new modem. I configured it just like normal with a D-Link DI624 router. It only works great for only about 30 minutes and then no signal strength. The only way I can get it back going is to unplug the router power and plug back in. I have tried everything from searching on google with no straight answers, anywhere. I have also upgraded the router version, and nothing. If I would have to point at the problem, it would be the router. When i use the modem to laptop, it work fine with no problems. Any help would be nice.

If you believe it is the router, then consider purchasing a new and different router. Having gone through a similar problem with Rogers and the true answer being their modem (now replaced), I can say that one can waste too much time on this kind of problem. Routers are now fairly cheap. Belkin and others are known to work. So try a new one, and if that does the trick, great. ... JDH

Who are you getting your service from-and don't tell me it's AT&T because they sub-contract other DSL providers, usually Covad-and I might be able to help you...or at least point you in the right direction..

Not that I know a lot about this stuff, but I see in my Netgear router configuration, when I set up the WPA-PSK encryption passphrase, there is a Key Lifetime setting. It seemed to me that setting this to the maximum value accepted worked best for me.
I was noticing after a period of time that my connection would drop, then my laptop did not want to reconnect. It would try, but it would be unsuccessful. It seemed that increasing the Key Lifetime setting increased the time before the connection would eventually drop. I don't recall the maximum value I could enter just now, but it was something like maybe 10 hours (expressed in minutes).
