I deleted the partition containing the OS backup files (I purchased recovery CDs), but now when I press F11 at startup I get an 'Error Loading Operating System' message because (I think) the predesktop area doesn't exist anymore.
Is there any way to remove this F11 function? I realize I can simply just avoid pushing F11 during startup, but for completeness' sake I would like to make it so that pushing F11 during startup doesn't do anything. Any help would be much appreciated.
Removed Parition, need help removing F11
One of the following might work. I never heard of anyone complaining of that problem before, so these are just some guesses.
Go to the BIOS setup menu and under: Security > Predesktop Area, set to Disabled.
From a Windows install CD (of the same version), run Fixboot or Fixmbr or possibly Bootcfg from the Recovery Console. See Windows Help and Support for more info.
