DVD Burner stalls on T60P Vista 64

#1 Post by jgrobertson » Sat Aug 11, 2007 7:13 am

When I try to burn file to a DVD using the Vista 64 built in capability, it gets part way through the file set and just sits there. The status window does not change (says 42% complete or such), there is no drive activity and it won't let me kill the application. I have to force power off and reboot.

I ran PC Doctor and it stalled too, but when I stopped the test, the report was that it passed.

I don't know if I have a flaky burner or if this is a Vista problem.

This is with Vista 64 and all the updates from MS installed on a T60P (2623DDU) with Core 2 Duo T7400.

This may not be any help, but I'll put it out there anyway.

You may experience various problems when you use optical media in Windows Vista

purchased an AOPEN ISU 8484G DVD-RW from eBay. It won't burn under vista or xp.
