#1 Post by fahim » Sun Aug 12, 2007 4:40 am

Thanks

I've read somewhere that intel's integrated graphics has problem with high resolution screen (too weak?). Hence lenovo gives up soon after prereleasing a few models of T60 with sxga+ screen and intel graphics.

T61 exists with GMA X3100 and 14" SXGA+. I got the ref 8938 23K for : T7300(2GHz), 1GB RAM, 120GB 5400rpm HD, 14.1in 1400x1050 LCD, Intel X3100, CDRW/DVDRW, Intel 802.11abg wireless, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, Fingerprint reader, 6c Li-Ion, WinVista Home Premium

Old age S3 SavageX with 8 MB from T23 can handle 1400x1050. GMA X3100 and even previous withc are much more powerfull can do it very easy.

I guess the T60 + intel GMA 950 was deemed too weak for vista since it lacks hardware T&L. Although I read that it actually can run aero, the X3100 (in the Santa Rosa T61) is much better suited.

Too weak for Vista perhaps. I have a T60 w/ GMA950 running XP and couldn't be happier. I don't play games on this laptop (work computer), and the battery life is amazing.

What is your temperatures like?
Does it get hot?

I'm really frustrated right now.
I don't use my ATI x1400 at _all_, i don't play games.
I would love to get an integrated graphics card!

I completely agree! This is a pure marketing issue... "Come and buy the fastest machine! Battery life is good enough to run from one outlet to the next!" Though vista it has its positive sides, too. RAM is now a lot cheaper since it needs so much...
