FS: Apricorn PATA HDD Upgrade Kit

So simple, even a caveman could do it... :)

i cloned my 40gb 5400 hitachi drive over to a 100gb 7200 seagate drive in 45 minutes, start to finish, using this... the kit includes a drive enclosure, cables and software... all you have to do is disable the predesktop security, put the new drive in the thinkpad, put the old drive in the enclosure, boot the software from the cd and follow the directions...

note: i believe that if you have a thinkpad with a hpa (instead of the hidden partition), you will need to define a partition for the hpa, otherwise, it will not copy it over...

$40 shipped/paypalled, or make offer...

I think this may be a tad expensive. I just bought this enclosure from Dell for $38 shipped and it had a $15 rebate. $23 AR.

Is the enclosure listed here a better choice?

There's reason to believe it's an authentic IBM product from Apricorn too.
