T61p not seeing dvd-r drive?

This may be more of a vista problem than a t61p problem but Im posting anyway because I know you are all experts in both areas. Anyway, I just got my thinkpad today (windows vista x64) and vista was 'seeing' it at the beginning and would load DVDs fine but now for some reason it doesn't show up in my computer... when i insert the disk the light blinks green for 10 seconds then stops (I think this is normal?) but nothing shows up nor am I notified of 'autoplay'. Anyway I'm getting a little desperate and was wondering if any of you could help me out.

Might be a silly question, but have you tried pulling the DVD-RW drive out of the ultrabay and reinserting it ?

ah i fixed it, it was a vista driver issue believe it or not

I had a similar problem on my T43P, after lots of googling I found it was a vista issue, needed to make a change in the registry, was most annoying.
