How to disable password manager

#1 Post by nomissa » Tue Aug 14, 2007 3:32 pm

Is there any way to disable the password manger besides completely uninstalling it? I can right click the system tray icon and exit, but it just starts up again when the computer restarts. I can't find anywhere in preferences where I can disable it.

Also, what features, if any, would I be losing besides being able to log into websites using the fingerprint scanner? Any help would be much appreciated.

You could remove it from autostart, there is a nice tool from Sysinternals which could help:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysint ... oruns.mspx

T43p 2668-G2G, 14,1 SXGA+, XP Pro, internal hairdryer
T23 2647-9LG, 14,1 SXGA+, XP Pro, no hairdryer

Found it ...

If anyone else wants to disable the password manager, try going to C:\Program Files\Lenovo\Client Security Solution and double clicking css_pwmgr_toggle.exe.

Edit: Or just click on Client Security Solution in your ThinkVantage folder.

Um, I can't find either of those. Where else could I check?

Try clicking Start -> All Programs -> ThinkVantage -> Client Security Solution. In there, you should see an option to disable the password manager.
