cannot delete RRbackups folder

I just uninstalled R&R but have been unable to delete the RRbackups folder on my external HDD -- the drive to which R&R tried to make an aborted backup.

The folder symbol is faded out like it's a system folder. I can rename but cannot delete any files or folders within as would be the case if some process or program had a handle on it. However, a search of running processes reveals that none of them are using the folder, so I'm at a loss.

I also tried renaming the folder and rebooting but even after a restart the renamed folder is protected and cannot be deleted.

Any ideas or suggestions how to get rid of it?

OK fixed it... I had simple file sharing enabled, which meant I couldn't alter the security settings of the folder. Fixed that and now it's gone.
