Hello all,
I have a T60 laptop (2007-62U)..around 2 weeks ago this weird mark appeared on my screen in the upper right corner. It could have been there longer as it only shows up on certain colours.
I know its nothing that I did as its just been sitting on my mini dock or on a desk in the house.
I've noticed that if I leave my machine off for a while (10 hours) that the mark is gone but it will come back after the machine is on for a while.
Here is picture I have taken of it

Is this something I should just call in for warranty support?
Thanks,
Steve

Ezserv..
Well..I was hoping to have a good story about my Ezserv experience but unfortunately it doesnt look that way.
I went ahead and sent in my laptop to Ezserv (In Canada). I sent it in on Aug 20th and just received it back today. Took a bit longer then expected as the repair centre is only 45mins away from Toronto..but anywaz..I read the repair sheet and they replaced the LCD which was expected.
I booted up my machine and everything looked bigger..after reading some of the stories on here I was like [censored]..they messed up.. I checked my display properites and my max resolution was 1024x768..My unit comes with a 1400x1050 panel..I figured they screwed up but not to jump the gun I did some troubleshooting..I disabled screen expansion, that way I should see a black border if the proper panel is installed..i un-installed and re-install both monitor and the display drivers..same issue..
Called up IBM..informed them that I had just received my laptop back from ezserv and they installed the wrong panel..and informed them of my troubleshooting..I ended up spending 2 hours on the phone with them as they think its a software issue..we uninstalled and re-installed the driver 2 times with the same result. I told the agent that I can tell its the wrong panel as at 1024x768 this panel looked sharp (as sharp as it can at that resolution atleast
)..if the 1400x1050 panel was installed running at 1024x768 will look very blurry..But nope..his second level would not send out a box to me. Im running Vista on my machine and the second level guy said to me that its a problem with Vista, the drivers dont support 1400x1050..I said excuse me? I had been running it at that resolution just fine until I had my machine repaired..and they wanted me to re-image back to XP which i refused for suggesting such a stupid answer
He got intouch with his supervisor and they agreed to send another box..BUT if they found it to be a software issue they would charge me $250 for the time and labor..which I replied..will you send me $250 if it ends up being your mistake and having me waste all my time? Of course I knew the answer..
To be 100% sure i re-imaged xp back on my spare drive and sure enough..it still detects it as a 1024x768 panel instead of a 1400x1050..
I must admit I used to support thinkpads for US customers back in 2001-2003 back when the support centre was in Toronto(before they moved to atlanta) and I think our support was pretty good for the most part.(I actually remember some women calling in on behalf of Bill Morrow to order recovery cds
)..
Thats my story..hopefully things will get fixed the second time
