Hey, I was just wondering, on the X30, does yours bring the built in WiFi? if not, can I buy one and put it in (I assume you can).

Also, where would I be able to find the ultrabase for it?

Thanks

From lenovo.com:

IBM ThinkPad X30 2672-41U

PIII-M 1.2GHz (512KB), 256MB RAM, 40.0GB HDD, 12.1 XGA(1024x768) TFT LCD, Modem(CDC), Ethernet(LOM), Li-Ion battery, Win2000

It doesn't seem to come with wifi, but you could install a wifi card and route the antennas through the LCD. Of course, you could always go the PC Card option too.

With regard to ultrabases, you can find X3 Ultrabases on eBay, or you could use a ThinkPad Dock (my personal favorite because of their compatibility with a variety of machines.)

hey thanks a lot for that info, I may be buying this. I'm looking at the other X30 for sale on this forum. I myself have ordered the X61S with the ultralight screen and 1 gb of ram ( I have on gb ready for when it gets here) I also ordered it with the 80 gb hdd (will install the 160 gb 7200 RPM drive whenever I can get my hande on it).

The reason I am buying it is for my girlfriend. She needs a laptop for school. Do you have any more detailed pictures of the laptop? You say there's a crack on the case, is there a pic of that?

Let me know, I'm very interested.

Edit: Nevermind about the crack, I saw it in the pics, not bad. I've sent you a Pm, let me know.

Thank you

I have upgraded some details and reduce price on the T41. On the X30 battery, it says it is in the red but it can hold two hours and charge very nicely. Also no wifi for it either. Considering I just notice the battery in the red, I will reduce the price of the X30. I do have you note that there is a buyer that is interested also.

Payment sent last night, can't wait to see it. I may keep it myself and cancel the order of the X61S to save some money (not likely). It really depends on how much I like the X30 and how much I like the X61s, and then weigh if whether or not the upgrade is worth it (probably is). If I do keep it for myself, I'll be on the lookout for another X30 for the girlfriend.

We shall see.

This seller is great to deal with. Very courteous and respectfull. Updates the buyer often on the status of the laptop.

I would recommend anyone to buy products from him.

Final bump, I've edited the first post. I upgraded ram to 1 gb and upgraded the hard drive to 80 @ 7200. If no interest, I will post on Ebay with one week.

Why isn't this gone yet?

1GB RAM, 80GB 7200RPM HDD, SXGA+, DVD burner, 2 batteries, etc., all delivered for $450?

Tough to beat this one. If I didn't already have 9 ThinkPads, I'd grab it!
