thinking of T61p 14.1" sxga to replace a vaio FZ?

I have a vaio fz with an nvidia 8400gt card. Its got a great screen (best I ever seen) but its a bit bulky. would a T61p be a good step for use as a main computer and travelling? I saw a T61 regular (wide) and compared the colors between the FZ190 and there was a big difference (in favor of the Vaio) as well as brightness but I was wondering if the T61ps screen is brighter than the regular T61?
