T20/T22

I looked at the specs for both on IBM's website and other than maybe processor speed I dont see a difference between the two. Is it just that the 22 is a little better made?

The only real difference that can't be changed AFAIK is the S3 Savage IX8 graphics chip on the T20 vs. the S3 Savage IX8+ on the T22.

The T22 comes with bigger CPU's (800, 900, 1G) and with a more effective heatsink/fan, but those can be put in any T20. In fact i did put them in my T20.
And the T22 can be used with a
14.1" TFT display with 1400x1050 resolution.
I guess you need the Savage IX8+ to achieve that resolution, but i'm not sure.

Some T21s also came with that video chip.

An SXGA+ panel along with the proper video cable, yes.

Is the S8+ video chip that much better when using the standard 14.1 lcd (1024x768 16m colors). Basically if you had a T20 & T22 with the same specs would you notice any real difference in video play?

Back then....probably. Today....probably not. I suppose it depends on what you are used to.
