Hi, I have an A30 that currently has only 256MB of RAM installed using both slots. I want to upgrade to at least 512MB but I don't want to occupy both slots with 256MB modules (room for future upgrade). I went to Crucial but they do not list a 512MB module for my machine. I contacted them via their online help. They informed me that the 512MB module that was listed for this machine is no longer available for this model machine due to issues.
Quote: "The 512 part has been disabled because it is documented that the
830 chipset does not work well with x8 based sodimms."
Is there a 512MB module available that does not have "issues" other than from IBM? Thanks.
Mike
