SOLD! R50P(1832-22U), UXGA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ship worldwide
A not-your-everyday ThinkPad in very good to excellent condition, 9 out of 10 in my book, with wear on the lid only and minimal keyboard shine...
ThinkPad R50p 1832-22U:
Original description: P M 1.7GHz, 512MB RAM, 60GB 7200rpm HDD, 15 UXGA(1600x1200) TFT LCD, 128MB ATI FireGL T2, CD-RW/DVD-R Multi-Burner, IBM 802.11a/b/g wireless(MPCI), Bluetooth/Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), UltraNav, Secure Chip, 9 cell Li-Ion battery, WinXP Pro
Asking $575 firm plus reasonable shipping depending on where you are. Will ship for free to lower 48 states if you choose NOT to use PayPal. I ship worldwide and accept most payment methods.
In my not so modest opinion, this is as inexpensive as the combination of UXGA screen and ATi FireGL T2 card comes these days...
Add $25 for another 512Mb chip, or $60 for 1Gb chip. Deduct $50 if you don't want the HDD.
The warranty on this laptop has expired.
Feel free to PM me for high-resolution pictures, or with any questions and/or concerns that you might have.

Answer: Go to IBM's main page (it is www.ibm.com), type 1832-22U in the search field, choose the first hit, choose "Overview" and then "Display"... this will answer your question - taking you to Detailed specifications - ThinkPad R50, R50p, R51. Another confirmation is found at Product specification - ThinkPad R50p - Model 183222U; that page can also be easily found on the internet.wearetheborg wrote:Flexview screen ?
Actually, it is very easy to find information on the internet...
Souns like a very fine ThinkPad to me... had I not recently had my needs covered, I would surely consider this R50p very seriously!

All R50p's have Flexview UXGA displays. This sounds like a good deal. Grab it, people! Remember, you can upgrade the screen to QXGA!wearetheborg wrote:Flexview screen ?

Not really...QXGA screen can be had for as low as $300, brand new...
Johan is as savvy as anyone when it comes to researching the Web...God bless...
Here's how I try to remember the whole FlexView deal, weatherborg:
Take A30P and T60P as bookmarks. Anything in between, including the bookmark models has a FlexView screen, as long as it has a combination of "P" designation and UXGA 15" LCD...
There are other models that may or may not have a FlexView and that's where things get confusing, but all of the above definitely do come with FlexView...and that includes the aforementioned R50P, with no "if", "and" or "but" in the equation...
All the best.

Re: screen differences
In a nutshell:drw1710 wrote:can anyone please educate me, whats the difference in the sxga, uxga, qxga screens please
SXGA+ = 1400 x 1050
UXGA = 1600 x 1200
QXGA = 2048 x 1536
Check out this thread for a pictorial comparison of the QXGA and UXGA resolutions (albeit on different size screens), this thread for an XGA v QXGA comparison, and this thread for a SXGA+ screen. Hope this helps

Re: screen differences
Go to the second page of that thread and you'll see a photo comparing 15.0" QXGA with 15.0" UXGA.KristianJ wrote:this thread for an XGA v QXGA comparison
For comfortable viewing, UXGA and SXGA+ on 15.0" displays are best. For maximizing working area, QXGA beats them all.
