Need help with Rebooting Problem

Whenever I go and shut down the computer either with the start button or power off button, my thinkpad reboots even with the lid closed, what is causing this and how can I correct it?

Called IBM got right through (priceless to me) did a depower? to the system and it is working properly now. Thanks to all that was in deep thought to my problem. LOL
