Hi,
Recently, I've started having this annoying problem with my R50e. When I try to plug in the power cord into the yellow socket, I have sometimes difficulties doing it. Either I need to twist it, or rotate, or something else.
I've tried searching the net and I came to a conclusion that this was not a problem of the power cord but rather of the socket. Has any of you experienced this?
I bought my laptop two years ago and it's out of warranty so I can't take it back to the store. Is there any way to repair it by myself provided that I'm not extra skilled in these kind of things?

Yes, I had the exact same problem with my R40. The yellow socket was cracked and the plug was lose. I had to get the DC jack replaced. Unfortunately on mine the jack is soldered on the motherboard and I couldn't replace it myself. On some thinkpads the jack is not soldered which makes the replacement a lot easier.
