Boot From Mini Cruzer USB on X30

#1 Post by fx10000 » Wed Oct 27, 2004 8:44 pm

Ok Here Goes.

The question is will this work or better yet has anyone done this? I have formated the USB Memory Device and Made it bootable with MS Dos. But I can not get it to boot. I have the USB enabled in the Bios. And yes I even changed the boot order. I even disabled the other boot options but that did not work either. Maybe I am beating a dead horse. What do you guys think? :(

Did you format it in XP? XP didn't give me the option of creating a bootable disk on the USB flash drive.

There was a discussion of this in the 'T' forum:

I have had no success getting the USB memory stick to boot. If someone has achieved this task please let me know how you did it. Thanks in advance.

Go here and download the HP USB boot format tool. It worked for me!

This worked on a non-HP or DiskOnKey device. Also, didn't need a USB 2.0 for it, like the HP site says you need.
