How to remove Intel & Microsoft sticker from x40

#1 Post by chintapun » Thu Oct 28, 2004 1:33 am

I really want to remove the "Centrino" and "Designed for Microsoft Windows XP" sticker from my X40.

What is the best way to remove these stickers without damaging the case or leave any mark? I'm in Thailand. So the removal product may not be available as suggest to use in US. Can I use mixed alcohol to clean up the glue?

Thank you

I soaked it with rubbing alcohol then peeled it off gently with a plastic tip since I bite my nails to near nothing.

The people who restore paintings call that "a mild enzymatic solution," but they use a low-fiber swab rather than their fingers.

Seriously, I take a hair dryer and heat it up a bit. The sticker comes off and the residue slips off beause of the heat leaving no marks or anything.

I'm in Bangkok right now. Just set it outside for 10 minutes and they'll almost fall off by themselves (if only I were kidding).

Seriously, warm it up a little by putting it outside in Bangkok for a half hour or with a hair dryer. Put your fingernail under one corner and pull it up enough until you can grab ahold of it. Then pull it off slowly.

Then take the sticker and repeatedly dab it on the spot where it was on the palm rest. It will life the remainer of the glue right off. In about a week or two, you won't even be able to tell where they were.
