#1 Post by masterus » Tue Aug 21, 2007 6:49 am

Hello everyone :!: :!: :!:

I have T43 with LONG-FAN and specs below.
Everything was fine until few days ago, fan just started run non-stop also it's started sound a little noisy :(
What's happened :?: I heard rummors that it's connected with one-hand handling T43 in place where is GPU(left-side TP).Is that true :?:
What kind of options I have :?:
I'd like to add that my warranty is until 05-05-2009.
NEED HELP :!: :!: :!:
I'd be gratefull for all responses.

Regards

I have a T43p, 2,26GHz and the fan been running non-stop since day 1 so i thought this was a feature of the T43's :)

Did you change any of the power settings or did you upgrade the BIOS or EC? Any changes you know about that you did just before this started like new drivers?
I guess you prefer to get i back like it was a few days ago, but you could get the fancontrol utility to see the temp of the sensors in your computer and optionally use it to control the fan since the T43's is pretty noisy in general. Another option is the notebook hardware control that is able to do the same things+more.

I'm not sure what kind of noisy you are talking about, but i had my fan replaced a few days ago because it started to make some strange noise and became even more noisy then normal for the T43. If your fan is just more noisy because it run at a higher speed i guess this is normal noise though. Then you have to find out what cause the fan to run non-stop or use some of the tools suggested. If you get the fancontrol utility you could at least see the temps and find out if it's very warm which might be the reason why the fan never stop.

I also had a T43p (2668-P2U). The fan on my laptop was on since the day 1, since the time I powered it on.
