some fresh-install questions

#1 Post by joshrob » Tue Aug 21, 2007 7:31 am

Could anyone, who did the fresh-install-thingie, please answer these questions:

a) is it possible to put the "fresh-install source files" into the hidden recovery partition?
b) after merging the partitions, if something goes wrong will I be able to restore the system from CDs I've made some time ago? will it recover only windows or the hidden partition as well?
c) after fresh-installing windows and deleting the hidden partition will I be able to use rescue and recovery for scheduling backups? in other words does rescue and recovery use hidden partition to store backups?

Thanks,
Jakub

a) No, it's not possible.
b) If you made some recovery media than everthing including the recovery partition will be restored.
c) R&R works without the recovery partition since it's storing on the c:\ drive by default. Just install a copy of R&R after your setup.
