FS: MMC1 233Mhz PII CPU & IBM Thinkpad Logo piece

#1 Post by Kaervak » Tue Aug 21, 2007 6:52 pm

Random Stuff:
1) MMC-1 PII 233Mhz CPU pulled from a 380z. Bare CPU, no fan but it does have the heatsink (not attached to CPU). $4.00 Shipped.

2) Little logo from the bottom right hand corner of a T23 palm rest. I pulled this off my broken palm rest before sending it off to the recyclers. Smooth texture, small nick in the top right portion of the M and one in the bottom right corner under the d. Send me a SASE and we'll call it even.

All items will be shipped via USPS First Class mail. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks guys. :)

Sold Stuff:
*SOLD* 2) 16v 2.2a (35.2 watt) IBM AC Adapter. $7.00 Shipped

*SOLD* 3) T23 Main Battery. I don't recall the cycle count, but it gets about 40-45 minutes of runtime. $8.00 Shipped.

*SOLD* 4) T2x series 8x DVD-ROM drive. FRU: 27L4087. $10.00 Shipped.
The drive is a Hitachi GD-S200. It doesn't like reading DVD-RW discs, but reads everything else alright.

*SOLD* 5) Thinkpad 380z $65 Shipped.
Well this laptop needs a good home. I was going to use this as my Gentoo test system, but after having KDE compile for four days I've decided to change my mind. Not a bad system just not an exact match for what I'm looking for. Specs as follows:

Original IBM description:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... ry=2635HBU

Current Specs:
PII 300mhz CPU (upgraded from a 233) Fresh application of Arctic Silver 5 and the HSF has been oiled with a PTFE based lubricant.
64MB EDO RAM (32MB hardwired and 32MB add in) Supports an "official" capacity of 96MB however 128MB EDO DIMMS have been reported to work.
4GB HDD. No bad sectors as reported by SpinRite V6
24x CD-ROM Drive. Has read every CD-R/RW I've thrown at it without a hitch.
1.44MB Floppy drive. Works just fine.
13.3" XGA LCD. The backlight is still quite bright for it's age. There is a nick in the LCD in the lower right third and a dead pixel in the upper left third. Both of these aren't very noticeable and IMO don't stick out too much. Still a very nice looking panel for a nearly ten year old laptop.
Serial, Parallel, VGA out, PS/2, IR, Headphone, Microphone and 1 USB 1.1 port.
External Volume control and stereo speakers.
10/100 PCMCIA 3com Xjack NIC
108mbps Atheros based 802.11a/b/g PCMCIA NIC
Battery that lasts for about five, maybe ten minutes
72 watt AC Adapter. Small nick in the cable that I'll wrap with electrical tape.
User manual/guide

Cosmetically there are a few scuffs and scratches on the casing but nothing that I would consider bad for it's age. As stated above, Gentoo is currently installed on it however the drive will be wiped and come blank. I'm not a Windows guy so I don't have any copies of the OS laying around. If you have any questions about the laptop, ask away. If you guys find the price too high, make a resonable offer.
