T61 6 cell battery TOO big - replacement code needed

WOW that battery huge. I started looking for a laptop smaller than my wife’s d620 and now I got one the same size plus a huge annex on the back. I took the advice of the 6 cell battery. I was told by the sales man it is like half a role of nickels, try a small water bottle. This is way too big. IT doesn’t fit in the sleeve I made it. It is adding a good inch. I am out of money so I guess I will have to deal, so much for low profile.

Based on treads on this site the t60 and t61 batteries are not the same. When searching the web and Lenovo’s site it all looks like only the t60s are available. This page is listing t61 battery product codes: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-67684 but when I search for them on Lenovo’s site and aftermarket sites these are listed as t60s.

I guess rather than adding to the confusion, where can I get the CHEAPEST battery that will not add size to my 14” wide screen t61. (I assume any 4 cell) What code do I look for. Links are helpful Is anything available after market that is affordable by a college student already forced to eat oatmeal for every meal?

Here, the T60/R60 info. is wrong, don't worry about it, the battery would fit in your T61 14.1 WS model.

call lenovo and complain that you aren't happy with the battery and that your salesman lead you in the wrong direction when you placed your order.   they might send a 4 cell at no charge if you complain enough.   it's worth a shot.
