X60 running HOT now?

For the past month or so, my X60 is running much hotter than before. Not hot on the palmrest, but underneat on the upper left hand part of the laptop. I find it to be very uncomfortable when it's on my lap, especially if I have shorts on. I ran the entire hardware scan, and it passed with flying colors. I didn't see a section to test the fans, but I just assume is a fan is out, it probably wouldn't even get past POST. Any thoughts?
