so it seems like the 14" 4:3 models are still the same size and thickness?

The t61p looks a bit thicker and bicker maybe a 1/8 of an inch or so...

the T61 does have higher "stands" on the bottom...
so it will look higher then the T4X more then what it really is

how's battery life when compared to the T42, T41. I still get close to 4.5 hours on my T42 with brightness only down one notch and WiFi on.

Dunno... my old 3 year old t41p gets about an hour or so, since I used the battery a lot!!

My new t61p gets 5 hours on max performance, wifi and brighness all the way up! But I have the 9 cell battery...

3:30 on my T61p. but that estimated . with everything off and dim
6 cell. used to get 4 hours on the T43 with 6 Cells.

but when inspecting both now and how much power they consume.
the number is very similar. about 16W on idle .
