A problem occurred while loading the System Update config...

Software Installer just told me it was being replaced by System Update.
I had an old version of System Update, so I uninstalled the old one and re-installed System Update 3.01.0009.
When it runs, I get an error message saying:

A problem occurred while loading the System Update configuration settings. Please wait while System Update Restarts.

I click OK, and a few seconds later, it pops back up.
This goes on forever, or until I reboot or cancel the task.

The only prerequisite I know about with system update is this -

Microsoft .NET Framework version 2.0 or later is required for ThinkVantage System Update to work properly. Use Microsoft Windows Update to ensure that Microsoft .NET 2.0 or later is installed on your system.

Thanks, but I already checked that, based on the System Update 3.0 Deployment Guide.
Also, I remember seeing an IBM site check for that and it said I was OK.
