i discovered my T61 is much too slow by copying couple of large files to a XP machine. Got 100MBit/s LAN connection on both sides, only 2000KBit/s. Device is up-to-date, even Software!
Thanks for help

Yep, yet another Vista annoyance. The various patches and fixes do little or nothing for this gigantic bug. THE WORKAROUND is to use RoboCopy which is now available on all Vista versions. It's super fast and easy to use. Here's an example of what I do:peekay wrote:Hi folks,

You don't even need to ask.smugiri wrote:You can ask Microsoft for a copy of the hotfix but it seems they do not give it to just everyone.

1. Turn off Windows Vista TCP auto-tuning (TCP-Window-Size detection)
2. Increase max. number of network connections from 2 to 99999
3. Install patches listed in previous posts
speed gain ~ 5000kb/s ^^
