T22 Intel Mobile Pro Combo SP cannot install

Runnig Windows XP SP2. Cannot install the onboard Intel Mobile Pro Combo SP 10/100 pci / modem card on my T22. I have the latest driver set from IBM, yet Wondows finds this device at each start, but cannot install the drivers. I always get an error 10 from Windows. It says the adapter cannot be started.....

This is a fresh install, boot from CD, format the drive, partition etc. I did this to make more room for SP2 to install etc. I also have FreeBSD on the disk. Previously I had upgraded from Win2K pro and the driver was already there.
