#1 Post by RonS » Tue Aug 28, 2007 5:41 pm

Does anybody know where I can find a new T60 with a 15" Flexview in stock? Preferably SXGA+

Thanks - I forgot about that place. I just ordered one. Their page says they're in stock, I hope it's correct.

RonS,
You had said you wanted a 15" flexview and found one on CostCentral. I just checked and only saw 15.4" units. Did you actually find a 15" flexview?
thanks,

I'm guessing he picked up a 200773U from there...that's the only 15" FlexView T60 I could find in stock (31 left, their website says). Has the X1400.

They also claim stock on a real oddball model, 200701U, which has a slow-ish 1.66GHz processor in it but sells (with a SXGA+ FlexView and X1400 graphics) for $1,250 (!). However, their stock indicator only says "will ship in 2-3 weeks," and every other web site out there lists it as not in stock.

I ordered the 200701U - the oddball. CPU speed isn't important for this system, but the guy who's going to be using it has older eyes and I didn't want to punish him with a T61 display. The two that I've seen has been pretty bad.

15" SXGA+ Flexview should be just right for him. 1GB ram and 120GB HD is nice too - and a pretty good price. I can get EPP from Lenovo, but even with that I'd rather get this T60 from a reseller since Flexview isn't available from IBM/Lenovo anymore.

They seem to offer 3 warranty but no details about it. Thoughts?

In addition to that.. you can buy

Lenovo ThinkPlus
Extended service agreement - parts and labor - 3 years - on-site - 9x5 - NBD

Is this IBM / Lenovo warranty or something else?

Well, I wish you luck on that order Ron. :) The "more sure" bet would probably be the 200773U only because they give actual live stock results for that model where the 01U has the nebulous-sounding "it's in stock but we won't tell you how many we have, and oh you'll have to wait up to three weeks" stock info. :P However, it's $400 more or so, so the 01U might be worth the gamble...

$1,250 is sure a good price for a brand-new FlexView model, I'll give you that.
